kalithea beach top ten    Kalithea Beach:  No wonder why is one of the locals’ favorite choices for swimming.

Located at the East coast of the Island, just 8 km away from Rhodes Town. The scenery of this beach is idyllic. Small bays and coves surrounded by palm trees and pine trees, leading to a beautiful sea with calm emerald waters. What’s more, Kallithea is popular for “Loutra”, the hot medical springs located near the beach. Even though they don’t function anymore, they are being reconstructed at the moment.


faliraki beach    Faliraki Beach: One of the island’s most famous and crowded beaches located 16 km South of Rhodes City.

Faliraki is a well-organized beach with dozens of colourful sun loungers and umbrellas covering its sandy coast. The golden sand of Faliraki extends over 4 km and being perfectly combined with the blue waters of the Aegean sea, contributes to a relaxing and attractive scenery. Here you can try practicing some water sports, like water skiing and wind surfing. For those who wish to be in a more quiet and less crowded environment, the bay of Kathara is just the right place for them. It is close to Faliraki Beach, near the small fishing harbour.


Anthony quinn bay     Anthony Quinn Beach:  Was named after the main actor of the movie “Zorba the Greek”, as it was his favorite beach!

Located 17 km south of Rhodes Town between the beaches of Faliraki and Ladiko and the original name of the beach is Vagies.However, because of the fact that the famous film “The Guns of Navarone” was filmed in that place, the locals decided to name this beach Anthony Quinn after the lead actor of the movie.Anthony Quinn beach is considered to be one of the calmest and most beautiful spots of the island. This beach is a rather small and narrow beach with a combination of sand, pebbles and rocks.


afantou beach     Afandou Beach: The extremely long beach of Afandou is located 19 km south of Rhodes town,ideal if you’re with children.

The beach is made of sand and those really fine smooth pebbles that feel nice on your weary feet. Its deep, clear sparkling waters are ideal for swimming and remain quite fresh even under the hot sun. Some fine taverns can be found nearby the beach.While not overdeveloped and crowded, there are sections where you can easily find a drink, a meal or to do water-sport activities.


Tsampika beach     Tsambika Beach: Beautiful fine sand beach under the watchful eye of the Tsambika Monastery, ideal if you’re with children.

The long sandy beach of Tsambika is located 26 km south of Rhodes town, under the imposing rock where it stands the miraculous Monastery of Tsambika.Turquoise waters and golden sands create a beautiful scenery, Tsambika beach is a great place to relax under the sun and sunbathe all day long! Dozens of beach facilities are available also a great variety of Water sports for the most daring types.


 Stegna Beach     Stegna Beach: Located 29 km south of Rhodes Town and it is a bit secluded and unspoilt.

The beach of Stegna with its crystal clear waters is one of the best kept secrets in Rhodes. Ideal for those that seek peace and tranquility away from the crowded resorts.The long stretches of white sand and shingles and groves of almond and lemon trees lining the winding roads that lead down to the beach adding to the natural tranquility of this beautiful area. The beach has several taverns, many of which are located within a few meters from the beach front and run by locals.


Haraki Beach     Haraki Beach: Really quiet with crystal clear waters, located 36 km south of Rhodes town.

Haraki (Charaki) is an attractive little bay offering family atmosphere It is the ultimate choice for families traveling with younger members where they will be happy to pick up shells among the shiny pebbles of the beach. There are a few umbrellas and sundecks to enjoy your tanning while your kids play safe.

The beach has an archaeological interest as well, in the left side there is the imposing castle of Feraklos, the first fortress in Rhodes used by the pirates as a base of operations. In a short distance from here, you will meet the picturesque village Archangelos, authentic and traditional.


Agathi Beach     Agathi Beach: With its fine sand and crystal clear waters a small beach mostly frequented by locals

The wonderful sandy beach of Agathi lies on a picturesque cove, nearby the beach of Haraki and the Medieval castle of Faraklos, 38 km south east of Rhodes City. The golden sands, along with the emerald waters, create a wonderful and attractive picture. Three canteens offer refreshments and snacks on the beach as well as sun beds, umbrellas rentals and showers.


Lindos Beach     Lindos beach: One of the three beaches surrounding Lindos town and one of the most popular beaches on Rhodes island. It is placed 55 km from Rhodes Town and it is a great location for families, due to its friendly ambiance and its many available facilities. The beach has both sand and pebbles and its waters are crystal blue and quite shallow, ideal for swimming and diving. Its family profile makes it a little crowded in high seasons, but still remains beautiful and enjoyable.

Saint Paul’s Bay in Lindos, where you will find 2 small beaches with a beautiful view of Lindos’ Acropolis. Most of the beach is private. There is also a pretty white chapel hosting a few weddings every year.

Pefki Beach, located only 4 km away from Lindos. It’s way quieter than the beaches closer to Lindos.

Gennadi Beach, a nice and quiet pebble beach. the water is very clear there, so it’s perfect for snorkeling. You can also rent deckchairs.

Prasonisi Beach     Prasonisi Beach:  One of Rhodes’ most beautiful beaches at the Southern end of the island. 

This sand beach separates the Aegean Sea and the Mediterranean Sea. It’s also a great spot for Windsurfers! The long and large sandy beach of Prassonisi lies 85 south of Rhodes Town and 40 km south west of Lindos village.

Prassonisi is known as a windsurfing paradise for many lovers of this sport. Particularly during the months of July and August, when the north winds called meltemi are blowing, the beach is crowded and every day you will enjoy skillful windsurfers. The beach consists of two sandy coves which both of them end in a rocky island that can be either reached on foot or swimming, depending on the level of the waters. Windsurfing equipments are available for rent, even if most surfers bring their own material. Taverns and rooms for rent can be found close to the beach. The landscape is idyllic and the waters amazingly crystalline.
